Isandra and Tía are extended family, but have never met each other, until Isandra arrives unannounced with questions about the family secret and with a distinct favour to ask.

Niko (he/him) is in his first year of the creative writing major program at UBC and has previously studied and worked as a journalist before finding his passion within the fine arts. Niko is a second generation Latino Canadian to an Argentine mother and a Mexican father.

Hockey Gals, by Laurie R. Poirier

HOCKEY GALS is a comedy about MARINA who meets her two best friends, SACHA and TARA, at a local bar, to watch a hockey game. With somewhat upsetting news, MARINA tries to find the right way to make her announcement, without ruining the mood of the hockey date.

Laurie is an actor, writer, and director based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Born in Nicolet, Qc, Laurie was always passionate about the creative arts. She attended several theatre programs in Cégep and University, and her desire to tell meaningful stories resulted in her writing her own projects. This led her to apply and get into the School of Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia, which she is currently attending. She is very excited to see what the future holds.

The Visit, by Luka Poljak

The Visit is a comedy-drama play about a single housewife struggling with the mundanity of her life until one evening she invites an old ex-boyfriend who brings up some secrets of her past life.

Luka Poljak and is BFA student at the University of British Columbia. As a kid he grew up watching theatre with his family and acting in plays too. Consequently, he's very passionate about the stage. Through his creative writing program, he hopes to express his love of the stage through writing.

A Ring, by Charis Young

A Ring is a comedy about Sam and Nat who started dating 6 months ago and have drastically different ideas of where their relationship is going and how to resolve the issues in their relationship.

Charis Young is an undergraduate student at UBC in the creative writing program. Writing has always been one of her passions, followed closely by nature, camping, and her cat. She’s been telling stories since she could talk and writing them since she had the ability to hold a pencil.

Dirty Laundry, by Sebastian Young

DIRTY LAUNDRY is a dramedy about SASHA, a down on his luck, angry young man who gets stuck at the laundromat with JEAN, a nosy young woman who can’t help but try to get involved in Sashas personal life.

Seb is a singer, songwriter, screen and stage writer from Brooklyn, New York. He developed his passion for creative pursuits after becoming a huge Beatles fan, and attempting to emulate their creative output. He currently lives in Vancouver where he attends the University of British Columbia, produces music with local artists, and performs with his band.
